God, full of mercy who dwells on high, grant fitting rest in Your sheltering presence, in the heights of the holy, the pure and the brave, who shine like the radiance of heaven, to the souls of the holy men, women and children, old and young alike, who were brutally murdered in our Holy Land, sanctifying Your name, at the hands of terrorists. We pray for the ascent of their souls. |
Master of compassion, shelter them in the shadow of Your wings forever, and bind their souls in the bond of everlasting life. Adonai is their heritage, may the Garden of Eden be their resting place. May they rest in peace, and may they receive their reward at the End of Days, and let us say, Amen. |
An El Malé Raḥamim prayer for Victims of Terror in Erets Yisrael, with an English translation by Rabbi Hillel Ḥayyim Lavery-Yisraeli from Prayers for Israel, for Protection from Terror Attacks, and In Memory of the Victims (15 October 2023), page 6. The girsah of the prayer appearing here was slightly adapted from the version found at Hebrew Wikipedia’s article on Yom haZikaron.
